Quotes Love, A SERIES #2
In this medium post series you’ll find quotes that I’ve collected over time which really shaped me as a person and also my recurring revisits to them makes me strong, calm and helps me make sense out of this world.
The pattern of this post series will be a quote attached with interpretation of it. Now mind you, the quotes though meant for different purposes literally will be used in uncanny ways to fit my life and find meaning from my POV in some cases.

#2 “We need the excuse of a fiction to stage what we truly are”-Andrie Tarakovsky through his Movie ‘Stalker’

Isn’t everything autobiographical, I mean we all see the world through our narrow holes, weather we stage a situation in Space or in London, the core that is the emotion remains the same.

So what makes artwork art is feelings, the deep innate thoughts one expresses.Thomas Wolfe conveys in Look Homwards Angles that Art cannot be separated from the Artist as anyone who sits down to write will use his clay of life to form his writing and it is impossible to separate those experiences of life. Fiction in its true sense is just the expression of those feelings, its as true as non fiction apart from the mere fact that the whole theme is hidden as if the author doesn’t want you to know it.To explain this Tarakovsky writes beautifully that fiction is used as an excuse to stage what one truly is. Fiction guards the author’s thoughts in a way no one can be sure of what was from their true life experience and what just a fluke figment of imagination. This way the author safeguards his true sense and stages fiction as a scapegoat for his true thoughts.

On the other hand, flipping towards the readers side buds the same thoughts.Reading fiction allows the reader to mould his thoughts into character and he can freely insert his life story and relate to it.This way Fiction books can be interpreted in many ways and therefore there’s much debate about the character and story.

Again using Andrie Tarakovsky quote, 'A book read by a thousand different people is a thousand different books’. I love the fact how Tarakovsky puts an end to the whole fiction vs non fiction feud with just his two quotes.
